Rawley has definitely started becoming his own little person and he is just so silly. He makes us laugh every day. Here are some outtakes of his 9 month shoot, he is such a ham:
He had his 9 month check up today and he is weighing in at 17.02 lbs (10th percentile), 28.25 inches long (45th percentile) & 17.25 head circumference (17th percentile). He is growing, but still tiny ;) Dr. Jackson says he is doing very well and has no worry or concern of his stats or his health. We don't need to go back until his 1 year appointment....yeah, 1 YEAR!
Rawley at 9 months is:
- crawling up on everything! He will climb up on your leg when you are standing there wanting you to pick him up and he will also crawl up into his toy chest. We will have a walker before his 1st birthday, I can see it now.
- starting to wave. He will pretty much put his hand up in the air when you say hello or goodbye, but he will sit there and just wave his hands around like a mad man.
- still a little love bug. He will give you kisses when you ask him to and he loves to give you hugs and nuzzle his head in your neck.
- still drinking about 4, 7oz bottles/day and will eat breakfast lunch and dinner in form of solids as well. New foods that we have introduced are blueberries, some cheese, pasta noodles, Cheerios (puffs are getting to expensive to replace as often as we have), a little protein like chicken. We also give him bites of whatever we are eating sometimes during dinner because he pretty much whines until we give it to him.
- good at playing independent and playing with others. He has been around all his cousins the past few weeks and he just loves playing with them! He will try to chase them around the house. He doesn't care that he only crawls, but he thinks he is moving quick and loves the challenge.
- saying "mama", "daddy/dada" and his new word is "papa"! It may just all be the same type of mumble, but he will sometimes repeat them after you tell him to say it.
- mimicking everything you do. He will mimic when you smack your lips, yell and exaggerate when you take a deep breath. He makes a weird noise when he does it and it's hilarious. Oh yea, and he also does spit bubbles too.
- loves to laugh and will have giggle fits all the time. His new favorite game is when you try to hide your face in the rails of his crib. Laughs like crazy.
- sleeping in his crib on the lowest setting. We had to lower that not too soon after he turned 8 months.
- starting to get some hair curl on the hair in the back of his head. The top is still faux hawk....beginning of a mullet??
- been really good at meeting new people. He used to be scared and start crying, but after being around so many different and some new people he adjusted quite well.
- has started to not sleep through the night again for the past few weeks. He will get up in the middle of the night anywhere between 2-3am and it will take forever to get him back to sleep. When we finally get him back to sleep he will wake up on and off for about an hour. Dr. Jackson seems to think it's some form of separation anxiety and tends to happen in the later months of the first year. Hopefully he will grow out of it soon!
- wearing 12 month onsies/sleepers & pants. He wears 6-12 months shirts and can wear size 2-3 shoes depending on the brand.
- loving "peekaboo", "patty cake" and still loves to "itsy bitsy spider". That will make him stop crying real quick.
- still loving to read Good Night Hawaii...still. For Christmas we got quite a few new books to read so I can't wait to start reading those to him.
- also loving to play with his stackable rings, door stops, his new rocking horse and this obnoxious car dashboard thing.
And yeah, those eyes are still blue!
It's so hard to believe how much he has grown thus far. It's hard to sit here and imagine what he will be like 9 months from now or at his 1st birthday. It makes me sad to think that I'm starting to already plan his 1st birthday party.
It makes you realize you really need to live in the moment and soak it all in because things change right before your very eyes.
