this week has been a good week. a far cry from my last couple posts ;0) man, i really have been a negative nellie haven't i?
first success: i am currently down 8 pounds since i started this journey at the first of the year. 8 pounds just shy of 6 weeks!!! not too shabby. the past few weeks i have been more focused on my calorie consumption then i was at the beginning. i don't know if it's because i'm finally seeing results so it's motivating me more or what but it's been feeling great holding myself accountable for what i eat.
second success: i am starting week 7 this week of the c25k program...week 7! honestly, i think i started week 1 over and over again because i never really committed myself to it. now i have and i am on to week freakin' 7!
this past week i had to complete my first 20 minute run. i about vomited knowing i had to do this run. but honestly, it wasn't that bad. granted, i'm running on a treadmill still and not doing my runs outside so it is definitely easier and i'm guilty of having to stop three times to catch my breath (although i only stopped for like 15 seconds). i actually did this run twice because of the stopping because i knew i wasn't ready to move on, but the second time i did it it went MUCH better (i still stopped, but once and it was after i had already run 13 minutes).
yesterday i ran w6d3 which was run 15 minutes, walk 3 then run 10. it went well and for the first time i sadly saw 11 laps ran on my treadmill. it's sad because it was the first time i have seen this number on here. it was a great feeling that i had when i was done though.
i think the hardest part for me right now is keeping the motivation during my runs. sometimes it's so hard to just keep going. how do you guys do it during long runs??? i have good jams on my iphone, but sometimes good jams aren't enough. i know it sounds extremely silly, but sometimes i imagine myself running in the 1/2 marathon and seeing those that i love on the sidelines cheering me on and making it to the finish line. but right now, that's all i got ;0)
all in all i'm pretty proud of how far i have come in the past 6 weeks. it's going to be a rough next couple weeks since these runs are going to be killer, but it will be great to accomplish them.

You are doing great lady! Honestly I used to be strictly on the treadmill (other than races) but it is SOOO much easier for me to run outside. You just have to get used to the hills. It takes a little bit, but I absolutely can not make myself stay on a treadmill for any longer than an hour.
When I am on the treadmill at the gym I just have to try and watch TV, people watch, or lay out my to-do lists in my head and such. Running is such a difficult mind game. Keep at it!
