rawley is 12 months.

One. Year. Old.

I still cannot believe my little baby Rawley is now one.  I still remember the day he was born like it was last week.  I still remember every milestone he's accomplished like it just happened.  It's really amazing how this little person has evolved into such his own little personality and watching him grow and accomplish things still amazes me every day.

This post is about a week late, but we had to postpone his 12 month check up because my battery died in my car the morning of his original appointment last week so I had to wait until now to go again.  Frustrating!

at his 12 month mark, his 1 year birthday, Rawley:

• is such a sweet boy.  every time i get him out of his crib from sleeping he wraps both his arms around your neck and gives you the biggest hug.  he isn't one to give kisses, but he is certainly a hugger!
• is such a good boy.  you can take him out to dinner, run errands and take him to events (sometimes without his afternoon nap) and he still is such a good boy!  i'm just amazed how easy he has been.  let's hope i didn't just jinx myself ;0)
• he is now saying Yo Gabba Gabba, but it sounds like Gabababababa.  he is also saying baby and cow.  sometimes when you say cow, he will respond with "oooooo" (moooo)
• still isn't walking.  infact, anytime you hold his hands and help him walk he just makes his legs like jello and falls to the floor.  there are rare occasions where he will walk when holding our hands and lately he has been holding on to just one of our hands while walking so i think we are getting close.  otherwise, he crawls around the house like a spider monkey.  he knows he can pick up major speed that way!
• loves playing with his blocks and puzzles on his new table and chairs set in his new toy room he got for his birthday!  
• hide and seek in the curtains is still his favorite activity to play
• we have finally moved him to a convertible car seat, but he is still sitting rear facing.  he is still too small to be sitting forward facing yet.  
• we are still feeding him a bottle 4x/day, each 6 oz.  most of the time he doesn't eat the whole thing.  we will start weaning him to a sippy with whole milk in the next week after his 12 month check up
• is still wearing size 6-12 month pants/shorts, we have been able to bust out a few 12-18 month shirts (but not many).  he is wearing 12 month jammies, but they are running a bit small and should move up a size, but the 12-18 month size is still too big.  depending on the shoe he can wear size 4, but he is mostly still in size 3.  he is also still wearing size 3 diapers, but I think we can try moving up to size 4. 
• speaking of diapers, diaper or clothing changes are like WWIII!  He absolutely hates being changed and it's a full out war.  That's not good for times ahead.
• at his 12 month check up, rawley weighs in at about 18 lbs (8%), is about 29 3/4 in tall (41%) and has a head circumference of 18 inches (37%).  Hey, at least he has grown ;0)

Here are some outtakes of his last photo shoot his first year and last photo shoot on the couch.  It's close to impossible to get him to take a photo on here anymore.  He is either not looking at me, crawling around the couch, off the couch or has a remote in his hand...or mouth. 

I can't believe that it's been a whole year!  This year has seriously gone by so fast and I have to admit it makes me a little sad that his baby days are over.  Rawley is now going to be a toddler.  As much as I fear the toddler years, I'm looking forward to them at the same time.  To watch him grow into his own little personality and just laugh at his crazy antics.  He is already so funny so it will be interesting when he actually adds words to his silliness.

Next month I'm going to take a different approach to his monthly photos until he is 2.  Hopefully it will be more fun and a little easier for me to actually take his monthly picture.  I just hope he stops putting everything in his mouth soon. ;0)
