were coming out of the dark hole of hand foot mouth disease over here! it hasn't been easy around these parts and so glad that FUNK is finally working it's way outta here. better believe i have been diffusing and applying my Thieves and Purification essential oils like a mo fo.
it's hard to believe that in just a couple months my baby will be TWO. he definitely doesn't act like a baby. he hasn't acted like a baby for a long time and i often forget that he's not even two yet. he acts so much older and it slays me.

age: 22 months...that's almost two folks!

age: 22 months...that's almost two folks!
stats: n/a
clothes: starting to grow out of his 18-24 size shorts and wearing some 2t sizes, all 2t shirts, size 7 shoes and still in size 5 diapers.
favorite foods: popscicles have been his jam the last week or so since that was the only thing he could choke down, but his appetite has actually gone down. cheese is always number one on the list and he gobbled down a bunch of spaghetti squash i made which is always a plus. we've been snacking on apples lately {the boys actually like to eat them in the car for some reason} and he has really loved eating them if they are cut up in slices. if they aren't and he walks around eating a whole one, he'll chew it up and spit it out. i'm thinking he likes to suck out the juice, but yet he won't drink any apple juice. it's weird, but at least he's getting it right from the source, eh? ;) yogurt is totally getting demolished by him these days too. i've been buying the noosa brand {if you haven't tried it yet, do it. you're welcome} and he will eat a whole container by himself.

favorite words: will say that he's a "mamma's boy" or he'll say he has a "pee pee diaper" when i change his diaper and try to pull it off. will point to the stove and always say "very hot, no touch, hurt". he'll count to ten if you ask him. he's using adjectives when describing things {big truck, etc.}
favorite activities: picking mom flowers. reading his baseball books. putting on shoes!!! most of the time he only wears one shoe at a time, but he loves to put on shoes and will run up to me and say "shoes on". he's been really getting into using the kindle lately which sucks, but rawley uses it from time to time and he's watched him quite a bit. he can maneuver around that thing like no one's business. it's amazing how quick they can pick up on that kind of stuff. dawson has been loving to start a couple of his chores which mainly is taking his plate to the sink when he's done eating and putting his clothes away in his hamper. he LOVES to do those things and thinks he pretty much is the bees knees when the job is done. he'll walk to the sink or hamper with this little pimp walk, stomp, arm swinging thing and it's about the funniest thing ever!

least favorite activities: like most kids {heck, even adults}, cleaning up after himself is a chore!! attitude and the word "no" comes out quite often.
personality traits: he's been actually fighting back with big brother now which kind of cracks me up because it really makes rawley mad. whatever, 22 months of beating this kid up...it's finally you're turn kid ;) i really despise all the fighting and toy taking, but i'm trying to let them figure it out before i intervene. the hitting has got to stop though!! dawson has been totally giving me attitude and side eye if he doesn't like something that i say or ask him to do. this is not a good indication of the years to come if it's happening already.

other milestones and things i want to remember: he still has his suck suck. i told myself i would wean him off of it once we got back from kansas city a few weeks ago, but i haven't yet and he's becoming more demanding of it. that freaks me out. at this time rawley was weaned off of it and it was SUPER easy. i should have known better than to think this time around will be the same. i'm making it my goal to get her done before his second birthday or otherwise it's going to just be that much harder.

for those of you that actually know me irl, it's no surprise that i'm already planning dawson's second birthday party. we'll have another party at our house and i'm working on a vintage baseball theme party since that's his absolute obsession right now. i can't wait, it's already been so much fun! also if you know me, you know baseball means absolutely nothing to me and don't know a thing about it. nor do i really care ;0) another reason why i was scared to be a boy mom. it's funny how your babies change you in more ways than you ever thought.
