hard to believe seven months have come and gone. i still think of dawson as just arriving to our crazy world, but in reality he is just growing and figuring everything out around him at rapid speed!
i feel like dawson is just crazy growing right before our eyes! he is army crawling super fast and everywhere {he can actually crawl on his knees but has realized it doesn't get him anywhere fast enough} and pulling up on everything. everything. we have already lowered his crib because he stands up in it now {it really is the cutest thing}.
i swear we are in a sleep regression phase right now. he does go to sleep in his crib alone which is great, but during the night he will go to bed between 7/7:30 and gets up about 4-5 times throughout the night {once being to eat} and then waking up around 5/5:30 FOR THE DAY! it makes us extremely tired and i'm not sure how to make this stop. i don't mind getting up to feed him, but it's all the other times that just exhaust me. normally, i will let him try to settle himself for a few minutes but his crying is waking rawley up on the night and well...i just don't want two crying babies up in the middle of the night. so i try to nip it in the bud quick with dawson which i'm sure it doesn't help anything.
this month his little personality is really coming through. he is generally a very happy baby unless it's the middle of the night or he is hungry and in that case he gets very pissy. he has been wanting to be held a lot lately too. i don't mind it because he is my cuddler, but it makes it hard doing that while trying to get anything done or when rawley wants hugs too because he doesn't like to share me with dawson most of the time.
rawley and dawson just started to take baths together this month. i LOVE it! for now, it makes the job easier for me of giving them a bath, but dawson is very squirmy in the tub and always likes to climb up the wall and just slip and slides everywhere. it makes washing rawley first, tricky ;0) speaking of his big brother, they are starting to play together now which has been the best to watch. dawson LOVES his big brother and smiles like crazy when rawley walks in the room. sometimes i catch rawley playing and interacting with him when he thinks i'm not watching and it really is the sweetest thing. dawson will giggle so hard and rawley will be showing him how to play with a toy and just being very sweet and gentle with him. that's the best part for me, seeing these two interact and i know it will only get better.
we have started solids this month and it's like dawson hit the jackpot! so far we have started: oatmeal, green beans, zuchinni, butternut squash, peas, carrots {hates} and bananas. he will eat solids 3x/day along with his 6 oz bottle 4x/day PLUS a bottle overnight. he does not mess around when it's time to eat. he has popped his first top tooth and i can see the other three around it trying to come in. they are so swollen so i hope they come in quick, they look like they hurt so bad!
dawson is my big boy, he is already wearing 9-12 month clothes and size 3 shoes. he is growing just crazy fast in my opinion. he is currently babbling "mamma" and "dadda" all the time, but of course it's not directed to us yet. he is also "waving" and making the sound of "hiiii" so i'm not sure if that is what he means or what, but it's SO cute :0)
love this sweet little boy! he makes me smile all. day. long.
