two years! how can this be? we really have a two year old now on our hands...that is crazy!
overall, rawley is a healthy and happy boy {although the above picture tends to differ}. he is still a very tiny little guy. he weighed in at 23 lbs {9th%}, was 33.5 inches tall {18th%} with a 18.5 inch round head {17th%}. tiny! although dr. yip said he is a petite one, he is still proportionate and is still growing in the right direction.
our only main concern at this point is rawley's speech, he doesn't really talk...at all. the only words he will say regularly and when he is supposed to is: outside, bath, mamma, dad, baby and of course our favorite...gabba. at this stage, he should be saying about 50 words and putting some two word sentences together. yeah, we are no where near that. with that said, dr. yip has put in a referral for us to get rawley enrolled with the state for speech therapy. i have mixed feelings about all this really. i feel a part of me failed him as his mother, not working with him as i should have during the last weeks of pregnancy through the first few months with a newborn. i feel that's the moment where i think he stopped talking and didn't want to communicate anymore. the last month or so i feel he is truly trying to get back at it again though. i feel he is babbling much more and trying to say things without actually saying them. he gets very frustrated, but wouldn't you if you couldn't say the words you wanted to say? ugh, my poor rawley. thankfully, we will be able to get help with this and i hope that it works for him.
besides all that stuff, he is still a fairly good eater. there are moments that he doesn't really eat a whole meal, but i think his teething has a lot to do with it. he just cut his bottom incisors and i think the top ones are tring to come in. he is constantly chewing on everything {books, teethers, his hands, etc.}. i don't even want to think about how it will be once the last of his molars try to come in! he is wearing size 6 shoes, size 4 diapers {still}, 12-18 month shorts and 18-24 month shirts. he loves to try to put on his shoes and constantly puts on my shoes and tries to walk around the house with them ;0)
rawley has a bundle of energy! he loves to wrestle all the time, run around and giggle like crazy, have laughing fits just because it's funny and laughing hysterically when you think his feet stink. i love this about him! he is just becoming all boy and i'm loving every minute of it.
i'm really excited for what lies ahead for rawley. i believe this is the year that will involve so much of his growth and i can't wait to watch him thrive! i'm so blessed to have his happy and healthy beautiful little boy in my life!
