dawson is two months.

12.31.2012

man, i wish i could say this month has gotten a bit easier but it really hasn't.  it's very much full of absolute crazy around here between both boys.  maybe it's the holidays and schedules are out of whack for everyone or maybe it's because i have a 20 month old demanding constant attention and a two month old wanting to eat all the time... it's been a little stressful.

dawson is two months old now and is quite the little chunker!  i love having a chunky baby since his big bro was still is a pip squeek.  he is definitely more aware of his surroundings now and smiles many sweet and dimply smiles whenever ryan and i talk to him.  he loves to talk back to us and it's just so cute.  he has ryan's dimples and i couldn't be more thrilled about it!

the play gym is his favorite thing right now and especially loves the little green frog and purple kitty that hang from it {just like big brother}.  he will lay there for a while just talking and squealing at them.

bath time and lotion time are much better now and i can officially say he loves the bath.  he is so relaxed in the tub that he will lay there with his arms above his head and let me wash him.

his sleeping patterns are a bit more predictable, but he constantly fights going down for naps.  whenever he finally calms down and falls asleep, he wakes about 10-15 minutes later and wanting to eat again.  nighttime sleep is quite a different story thought {thank goodness}.  his longest stretch has been around 5 hours, but he will typically go on average 3-4 hour stretches in the evening.  i don't know if i'm just used to the no sleep, but the evenings are getting much easier.  he is currently eating every two hours still during the day {on average 6-8 times} and will take about 20 minutes on each side!  yeah, you read that right.  it makes for a very long and difficult day with a toddler running a muck while nursing.  i need to figure out how to help him nurse more efficiently or else i'm going to need to really consider making the switch to formula.  currently, nursing is not feasible and isn't fair to all of us in this house because someone or something is always being neglected.  this is another post for another day though.

i had taken both boys to the doctors a couple weeks ago since rawley was sick and i had dawson checked out at the same time just to make sure he wasn't coming down with anything and he weighed in at a whopping 11 pounds {rawley at 22}!  he is a big boy.  currently he is wearing size 2 diapers and will wear 3-6 month clothes.

even though things are a bit crazy and frustrating around here, dawson is getting more and more fun each day.  he is just so cute, sweet and snuggly and we are so fortunate to have two healthy and thriving boys!
