dawson is 20 months.

i can't believe this little guy is 20 months!  {ps, these pics were taken on time, just haven't posted this....we're hitting 21 months this week.  oops.}  there is so much that he is learning and doing and most times i forget he really only is twenty months.  some days i think he is much older than he is because he just acts like my little dude {if that makes any sense}.

clothes:   we are still holding strong in size 2T shirts, 18-24 month shorts, size 6/7 shoe and size 5 diapers

favorite foods:  dawson has discovered just how awesome popsicles really are while eating them in the million degree weather.  maybe he just likes having popsicle juice all over him, who knows.

favorite words:  he's still just talking away.  he truly blows my mind in what he can say.  he's putting two word sentences together and sometimes busts out with a three word sentence like "i got ba-bee {blankie}" and he'll say "no, thank you" when he doesn't want something or "yes, please" when he does.  he's been counting better this month.  he usually says "one...thee {3}...fie {5}...seh {6}..."  dawson repeats pretty much everything you say so i need to start watching my mouth!

favorite activities:  anything sports related is still number one on his list.  he'll run around kicking a soccer ball everywhere with amazing control, might i add.  dad just recently gave him an old glove and he is practically in heaven.  because of big brother, he is just as obsessed with thomas the train.  he will push around trains for days on the kitchen table with rawley and dance like no one's business during the theme song ;0)  he's enjoying swimming a little bit more, but does NOT want you to force him in the water.  he's fine just peddling around the water by himself rather than get in the chaos of everyone splashing and jumping around.  he take after mamma in that aspect ;)

least favorite activities: we are still fighting to brush teeth, change diapers, put on clothes, take off clothes...the usual. 

personality traits:  dawson is so funny and cute right now.  he seems to be a complete mamma's boy right now.  the other day we were swimming in the pool and he must have scratched his hand because he kept saying "hut, hut" {hurt} while sticking out his finger.  dad asked him if he wanted to kiss it to make it better and he said "no tank {thank} you" with a nasty look.  i asked if he wanted mamma to kiss it and he came walking towards me shaking his head yes with the biggest grin on his face.  it's so fun to see him express his wants and needs through words and actions.  he has quite the personality already!

other milestones and things i want to remember:  his two year molars are trying to come in right now and it's the first time that he has actually struggled with teething symptoms while teething.  we have had an amber teething necklace on him since he was six months old and i truly believed it has helped him because teething hasn't really been an issue up until now.  nothing has busted through the gum line yet, but something is brewing!

 

i cannot believe dawson is almost two!  he has grown so much in the past few months that it makes me sad i no long have a baby on my hands.  i truly love the little boy that he is and enjoy every day!  i love you my sweet and silly baby!
