rawley is now in a TODDLER BED!

8.28.2013

my poor rawley.  he has really gotten the shaft on this blog since his brother has been around.  mainly because i have no time to take pictures with my real camera anymore or even blog about it.

a few weeks ago we transitioned rawley's crib into a toddler bed

and so far, rawley has been doing so well in it!  there are a few times where has gotten out of bed when we first put him down for a nap or for the night, but 98% of the time i would say he stays put.  the main battle we are having is currently is that he wakes up super early in the morning {like 5:30/5:45am early} and comes into our room to wake us up or bring us stuff that he has ransacked from the house.  yeah, not cool.

so...i just ordered a tall baby gate to put in his doorway so that he doesn't feel scared being totally locked in his room.  hopefully that will help keep him in until we are ready to get him out of bed, but i hope he doesn't just stand there and scream down the hallway and wake up dawson because that will be double trouble.  i have been researching some sleep systems to help him stay in his room until it's time to get out and i would love to get the sleep buddy system, but rawley wouldn't get the concept of it right now.

i think since moving him into his toddler bed, he has become a little bit more confident with things.  he might just feel more in control or something, but i see him saying a few more words these days which is huge for him right now {speech is still an issue and that is another post for another time}.  he has no problem getting into bed these days.  he just crawls right in, gives us a kiss and hangs out until he falls asleep.  sometimes, if i can't find him and he's being quiet i catch him just hanging out in his room reading books or laying in his bed.  i love it :0)

we have noticed that he likes to lay horizontal in his bed so he is hanging out of it all the time.  while i think it's cute, ryan feels bad for him that he doesn't have enough room {which is totally true}.  so we are thinking we will be converting his current toddler bed into a full bed.  i think he would do ok with it so you will be seeing another post about this in the near future  :0)
